TENTATIVE SEASON OPENING DAY IS 4/1/2001

Based on early feedback from field scheduling Sunday April 1st will be our opening day this year for both the morning (Senior) and afternoon (Central).

LEAGUE VOTES TO ALLOW UP TO TWO 28/29 YEAR OLDS PER TEAM

The board and managers voted in favor of a limited opening of the league to 28 year old and up players. Each team may carry up to two 28-29 year old players with no position play restrictions (i.e., you can have a 28 year old pitching for your team). They would not be eligible to play in the 30+ divisions in tournaments or the World Series (which may change for the 2002 or 2003 season).

This was done in response to a national trend toward opening the league to younger players, as many cities do not have MABL (18+) leagues. Some leagues have even gone to 25+ age.

League age determination remains the same (player must attain age 28 during the current season calendar year).

LEAGUE FEES (14 PLAYERS PAID) ARE DUE BY 3/16

Each team must have fees (minimum 14 paid) AND rosters turned in to the league by 3/16/2001.

NEXT MEETING

The next managers meeting will be on Wednesday, 2/28 at 7pm at UMC room 5642 (fifth floor, follow the signs).
