Giants win their second consecutive game in a thriller. With one out in the bottom of the 9th inning, Jerry Hendricks squeezed home the winning run to score Andrew Eisenhart who lead off the bottom of the ninth with a single. Eisenhart had stole second and went to third on wild pitch. It was a well fought battle between two long time components. The Rangers jumped on top in the top of the first with a two out rbi double by Hirales. The Giants tied it up in the bottom of the 3rd with a leadoff double by Josh Chlopowicz. With one out Chlopowicz stole third base and scored on Ernie Higuera groundout. In the bottom of the 4th the Giants took the lead. Andy Hunt leadoff the bottom of the 4th with a single and advanced to second on error on a pickoff move to first. With one out Eisenhart singled home the go ahead run. In the bottom of the 5th Mario Pesqueira walked and stole second. Pesqueira advanced to third on wild pitch and scored on error. In the bottom of 7th the Giants increased their lead when Jerry Hendricks walked and stole second. Advanced to third on flyout by Chlopowicz. Fernando Pesqueira got a clutch two out single to bring home Hendricks. Things started to unfold for the Giants in the top of the 8th inning. With two outs and no one on base a dropped flyball put a runner on second base. Rodriguez of the Rangers singled home a run to cut the lead to two. With two outs a passed ball allowed a second run to score and cut the lead to one. Giants defense was a little shaky in the 9th also. The Ranger leadoff hitter reached second on a infield error. With one out, another infielder misplayed a ball that allowed the hitter to reach base and a run to score to tie the game. Chlopowicz showed a lot guts and heart in the ninth. A lot of pitchers would be so upset at their defense that they wouldn't be able to bear and concentrate, but Chlopowicz handled the challenge and picked up his teammates to stikeout the Rangers hitter with the bases loaded to end the inning. Chlopowicz pitched a fantastic game striking out 12 batters. He improves his record to 2-1. The Giants go into a two week break at 3-4

CUBS PLAY EVEN WITH THE O's IF NOT FOR WAY TOO MANY ERRORS, POOR DEFENCE AND MISSING 3 KEY PLAYERS THAT COST 8-10 RUNS. HATS OFF TO THE O's WHO TOOK ADVANTAGE.

Yankees and Red Sox are off to a great start for the 2009 season. Both teams battled to the end, with a pitchers duel along with great hitting on both sides. Yankees came from behind to defeat the Red Sox in the last inning. Yankees notables were Bobby Gutierrez going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, Jesus Rodriquez going 2 for 3 with 1 RBI, and Manny Carreon going 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Congratulations to both teams on a great battle!

The 2009 Orioles post a strong opening day victory over the Thunder. Danny Villa wins his debut start with the Orioles, allowing just 2 hits in 5 innings. Kirk Jacobs and Tom Van Wart split up the last 4 to lockup the shutout. Villa also had a good day at the plate (3-4, 2b, rbi), and was joined by Kevin McCall (2-3, 2b, rbi), PJ Marquez (2-3), Dave Kalkwarf (2-4, 2 rbi), Lynn Miller (2-4), and Don Northrup (2-4). Van Wart tripled and drove in 2 in his first at-bat with the O's. Good game, and good luck to the Thunder this season!

Game writeup submitted by American Bulls
Bulls get their first win of the season in dramatic fashion over the Diamondbacks. The DBacks played a great game as it was back-and-forth game throughout. New additions Muskiet, Kevin Boesen, and Lynn all made key contributions. All got their first hits and were on base a combined 6 times in 9 ABs. Boesen makes a great slide in the bottom of the 9th followed by Sapp's walk-off squibber through a drawn-in infield. (Don't worry Eddie it looks like a line drive in the scorebook). Sapp was 3-4 at the top of the order to lead the offense. Lynn gets the win with a 1-2-3 top of the ninth in relief of Coffey, Flynn, and Muskiet. Great game, DBacks!

ERRORS, TOO MANY RUNNERS LEFT ON BASE AND GOOD PITCHING/HITTING BY THE TWINS ALL ADDED UP TO A CUB LOSS. CUEN PITCHED WELL FOR THE CUBS AND PETRI MADE A GREAT, DIVING CATCH IN RIGHT FIELD BUT IT WAS NOT ENOUGH TO HOLD OFF THE TWINS. HAPPY EASTER!
